Cookie Notice
Last updated: 9 March 2026
This Cookie Notice explains how Brieflodge ("Brieflodge," "we," "us," and "our") uses cookies, local storage, pixel tags, and similar technologies (together, Cookies) when you visit our public website and use the Brieflodge application and related services. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices available to you.
Please also review our Privacy Policy if you would like more information about how Brieflodge collects, uses, and shares personal information.
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. They can later be read by the service that set them. Website operators use Cookies for a number of reasons, including keeping services secure, remembering settings, measuring performance, and understanding how a product is used.
Cookies are commonly grouped into:
- Session cookies, which are deleted automatically when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or are deleted
- First-party cookies, which are set by Brieflodge
- Third-party cookies, which are set by service providers whose tools or content are used within Brieflodge
In addition to cookies, Brieflodge may use local storage and similar browser technologies to remember preferences and support product functionality. We may also use measurement technologies such as event tracking or similar signals to understand product usage where you have consented to analytics.
Why does Brieflodge use Cookies?
We use Cookies for several reasons. Some are necessary for technical and security reasons so that Brieflodge can operate correctly. Others are optional and are used only if you allow them.
The categories Brieflodge currently uses are summarized below.
| Type of Cookie | Description | Where used | Who serves these Cookies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential Cookies | Required for authentication, security, fraud prevention, CSRF protection, and core service functionality. These Cookies cannot be switched off in our systems because Brieflodge depends on them to work properly. | Brieflodge website and application | Brieflodge, Supabase |
| Functional Cookies | Used to remember interface choices and enhance your experience, such as layout, sidebar, or display preferences. If disabled, some non-essential settings may reset between visits. | Brieflodge website and application | Brieflodge |
| Analytics Cookies | Used, with your consent, to measure product usage, understand traffic and feature adoption, and improve performance and usability. | Brieflodge website and application | Brieflodge, PostHog |
Brieflodge does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising.
Additional details about our use of Cookies
Essential Cookies
Essential Cookies are needed to provide secure access to Brieflodge and to support core product behavior. Examples include authentication and session continuity, secure request handling, CSRF protection, and remembering the current account or workspace context.
If you block these Cookies in your browser, some parts of Brieflodge may stop working.
Functional Cookies
Functional Cookies and local storage help Brieflodge remember your product preferences, such as certain layout or interface settings. They are not strictly required for security or sign-in, but they improve the user experience.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics Cookies are disabled by default until you opt in. If you consent, Brieflodge may use PostHog and similar measurement tools to understand which features are used, how people move through the app, which pages perform well, and where product improvements are needed.
Third-party services that may use Cookies in context
Some third-party services may set Cookies or similar storage technologies only when you use the related feature.
- Stripe may use Cookies during billing or checkout flows in order to provide secure payment processing.
- Embedded media providers such as YouTube or Vimeo may use Cookies when embedded media is loaded or played.
These services are governed by their own privacy and cookie practices when their tools or content are active.
How can you control Cookies?
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject non-essential Cookies.
Brieflodge provides Cookie controls through the Cookie Banner. You can use the banner to:
- Accept all optional categories
- Reject non-essential categories
- Choose specific categories such as Functional and Analytics
If you have already made a choice, you can reopen and review your Cookie preferences from this page by using the cookie controls provided above.
You can also manage Cookies directly in your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete Cookies, or to alert you before Cookies are stored. If you disable essential Cookies, parts of Brieflodge may not function correctly.
Because Brieflodge does not currently use advertising Cookies, we do not currently rely on advertising opt-out programs as a primary control mechanism. If that changes, we will update this notice.
How often will we update this Cookie Notice?
We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the Cookies we use, our services, legal requirements, or operational needs. When we make changes, we will publish the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this notice.
